The current clan chief, 'Countess' as far as the bommbergonians are concerned, of Clann Ó Phearais, Émer Ní Phearais is a deeply respected leader with tremendous political acumen and the widow of the great hero Coileán Mac Cailin. She defied her clan to marry him despite his lower status as a rhydd, enraging several ambitious clan and sept members in the process.
