Olympus

Olympus is the highest mountain in the Olympian Mountain range that frames Elládos. Upon its peak rests the seat of the Olympian Pantheon, ruled by Zeus.

Geography

Perpetual storm clouds encircle the soaring peak of Olympus, seen as a testament of the power of Zeus. Upon the slope rests a peristyle-ringed temple where humans can bring offerings to their gods.   Beyond this, a thousand marble stairs stretching forty feet wide wind around the slope, leading up past cascading falls to palaces for the Titans in service to the Olympians. The stairs continue, cutting through a Titan agora to reach the acropolis where sit the palaces of the Olympians themselves.   Canals of ice-cold mountain water run alongside the acropolis streets before tumbling down the slope to become the multitude of falls on the lower mountain.

The Throne of Zeus

The grandest of all the palaces is the sprawling Throne of Zeus, a multi-tiered palace featuring enormous buttressed bridges leading to wings of the palace resting upon islands floating in open air. These islands are crafted from gravity-defying Skystone out of the World of Sky.   In the depths of the Throne of Zeus, dug far into the mountain, lies the Tartarian Gate—a portal ripped between Realms and leading to Tartarus itself. Into this infernal prison Zeus casts his most despised foes.   In a hidden chamber, here the Olympians also possess the Seeing Pools—quicksilver mirrors that allow them to scry across the Mortal Realm and even see into the underworld.
