Kronion
Kronion is one of the major poleis of Elládos as well as being the only significant settlement on an island of the same name. The city lies on the southern shore of the island, which itself lies separated from the mainland by the Strait of Korinth.
Defences
A defensive wall surrounds the main city, merging with a long wall (sometimes called The Long Wall) that extends down to the harbor district. In total, the walls complete a circuit of nearly 20 miles and reach a height of approximately 25'. Four gates provide ingress, one identified by each cardinal direction (North Gate, South Gate, East Gate, and West Gate).
History
Architecture
Several large colonnades ('The Colonnades' to locals) run through the city, providing respite from midday heat and a place for gatherings. In the agora itself lies the Colonnade of Justice, where the judges hear legal cases.
Geography
The most famous and recognizable profile of the city comes from the acropolis, the raised city, featuring the recently erected Temple of Athene. The acropolis sits nearly 200' above the rest of the city. Athene herself has a palace upon the acropolis, though she rarely remains in residence.
Directly below the acropolis lies the agora, where most city business is conducted.
The rest of the city is divided in six districts. Citizenship within the polis is associated with a particular district, thus most born in a district remain there for their entire lives.
Inspiration
Kronion/Athenai is inspired by Athens, but broken off onto a separate island, combined with Euboea. The original name for the city comes from Kronos.
