Consuming the potion made the drinker younger by 2 to 5 years, however they must consume it in one go - otherwise the aging effect would not be as potent.
One of the known ingredients for these elixirs was ginseng juice.

Potion of Longevity

There is a risk if anyone drinks it more than once. (No one can drink it more than 9 times.) Each time you subsequently drink a potion of longevity - there is a 10 percent cumulative chance that you instead age by 1d6 + 6 years.
