Giant Rattlesnake

GIANT RATTLESNAKE

Giant Adult = 15 meter long (standard size = up to 8 feet) - also called Death-Rattle.

Rattlesnakes Are Venomous!

The rattle noise comes from the sound created when hollow and bony segments in the rattle bang together. The older the snake the longer the rattle, as new segments grow when the rattlesnake sheds its skin, or molts ( a few times each year).

A Giant Rattlesnake pupils are vertical. Like other snakes, rattlesnakes don’t have ears and can’t hear most sounds. They detect movement by sensing vibrations in the ground. Their eyes see well even in low light.

The rattlesnake’s triangular head contains a hollow spot between the eyes and nostrils called a pit. This pit is actually a sensory organ that helps the rattlesnake hunt in darkness by detecting body heat.

Rattlesnakes have the ability to climb trees and to swim.

The Giant Rattlesnake is a 15 meter long, rattlesnake that stalks at night. The rattle first sounds like a buzz until step closer. The Giant Rattlesnake constricts its victims, followed by eating them whole.

Keen Sight and Tremor Sense = The Giant Rattlesnake has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight or feel.

RATTLE
Each creature in a 30 foot radius must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw, or drop whatever it is holding and become frightened for the duration.
(A creature must take the Dash action and move away by the safest available route on each of its turns, unless there is nowhere to move. If the creature ends its turn in a location where it can no longer hear the sound, the creature can make a Wisdom saving throw. On a successful save, the spell ends for that creature.)

BITE
Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (1d10 + 4) piercing damage.
VENOM = creature must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw, or take 3d8 poison damage and become Poisoned + half movement.

CONSTRICT
Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d8 + 4) bludgeoning damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 15).
Until this grapple ends, the creature is restrained, and the death-rattle cannot constrict another target.

HEADLESS ATTACK
A Giant Rattlesnake will still bite even after someone cuts its head off.
Just because its head isn’t attached to its body doesn’t mean that a Giant Rattlesnake can’t take the poison from just below or behind its eyes and bite down with their venomous attack.
