Farren's Favor
Farren's Favor is, as the name would imply, owned and operated by the Farren Family, the lead ruling family of Port Norsal. They are an elven family and the tavern reflects that in its style. The inside décor is made of beautifully carved wood pieces intertwined with woven branches. Inside, you are likely to see flowers that you have never seen before, as they have been imported from the Farren's homeland of L'Vy'Ae-dul-Fyr, the Forest of Life.
The two attendants behind the front desk are dressed in beautiful emerald robes with gold trim and embroidery with the instantly recognizable F that represents the Farren Family Crest. Their names are Elowyn and Tahriel.
The inn is very busy and the rooms here are not cheap. Farren's Favor resides next to Port Norsal's arena and is the primary staying place for travelers looking to stay in luxury while in town. For their standard rooms, the price runs about 5 gold per bed, though they have a penthouse suite that runs 25 gold per person. They have a booth in the arena and offer a VIP package that bundles the room with the price of seats in their booth for whatever event is in town that day. Their VIP experience includes complimentary elven foods and beverages served in the booth and a snack in the suite.
One such beverage is L'Vy'Ae-dul-Tyr'Vah, Water of Life and is a very strong beverage made of fermented tree sap and flavored with berries. This drink is meant to be consumed slowly and the flavor savored. Anyone who drinks it fast will feel like they have drank gasoline, while anyone who drinks slowly will experience a smooth and warm beverage filled with complex flavors of sap, berries, and herbs and a slight bite at the end that hints at how strong the drink is.
Guests who chose to stay in the penthouse suite are each given a small leaf pin with the Farren Family F stamped into the middle. If anyone tries to detect magic on these, they will notice a faint aura of divination. They are pointed to a stairway carved into the center of a tree with a faintly shimmering aura over the opening and told that their room is up the stairs. Before leaving the desk, they are told that as part of the luxury suite stay, they can have their armor cleaned and mended and they will have the chance to bathe and can get a massage after the event is over.
The room itself is stunning. It is a very open floor plan with a central common area, one cooking and dining area, a sitting room that opens to a balcony overlooking the city square, and 3 separate sleeping quarters. The cooking and dining area has a board of meats, cheeses, and dried fruits as well as 2 bottles of wine.
