Lich
Evolution
A lich is, like most undead, an artifical species. Lichkin refers to all individuals that ended their mortality by seperating their soul and containing one part of it inside a phylactery. Most liches perform the necessary process themselve, but there are records of liches being turned involuntarily or even against their will. Liches are further divided according to their age, magical aptitude and sometimes former race.
Appearance
While the concrete looks of a lich heavily varies, there are some common features they all share.
First: The physique of a lich changes from a pure skeleton to a near perfect replica of the appearance before their transformation. This change is dependent on their energy reserves or in outer words their hunger. While sated they seem as one of the living and the body slowly goes through different stages of decay while they hunger. Individual speed of decay between both extremes vary from a few days to several months.
Second: Instead of organic eyes, liches posess "Soul Fire" in its place. While every lich has his own base colour, every soul flame posesses the characteristic to change its colouration depending on the emotional state of its host.
Third: When a lich chooses to make his phylactery part of his body, it alwys ends about where their former heart was.
