Ascended

Like Celestials, Ascended describes more the state of a soul than a biological species. Every sentient being with a soul can theoretically ascend and join the ranks of the immortals. There are various known ways to Ascenion, the simplest also being the cruelest: By simply infusing once own soul with the energy of countless others, one can breach the bounderies of mortality and gain incredible powers if one can survive the backlash.

Unlike Celestials, most Ascended are bound to their original body and have incredible difficulties changing it. The surest way to kill a normal Ascended is by completely destroying their body as they can regenerate even from the smallest piece.

Powers change heavily depending on the individual. Known factors that influence their powers are former race, emotional state, life span and method of ascension.
