    She sells sea shells...
    Discovery, Exploration

A terrible storm saw the INS Salient dashed against the rocks just off the Western coast of Ordayn. Following hasty and turbulent introductions, the Misfits made there way through Bleakwinter Forest and arrived at Port Anlow looking more than a little worse for wear. After making the acquaintance of the locals, the misfits decided to improve their fortunes by taking on the task of hunting down renowned local pervert, Wild Billod. Although the journey to his hideout was not easy, and saw both Horatio and Throckmorton fall prey to his traps, through some clever magical trickery they were able to bring him down and return him to the village alive, collecting a much needed injection of cash.

Hightail out of Dodge and jump into Tombstone
    Criminal Activity

While waiting for their ride out of town, the Misfits developed a hankering for some larceny, selecting for their target the local general goods shop. In keeping with the rule concerning "best laid plans...", between an exhausted squirrel, ineffective chimney climbing, instinctive stabbings and misplaced sympathy, the Misfits soon found themselves scattering to the four winds with whatever they could carry. A canny piece of deception later, and they were on the way east, fleeing the scene of their crimes, laden with goods that should see them through their immediate trials. The next stop on the way was Fort Blackrot, a town built out of necessity around an extensive iron mine.  On arrival, they soon learned of the town's trials, witnessing a protest which transformed into a brutal riot.

A few nights in Fort Blackrot
    Miscellaneous

Following the riot in the town square, the Misfits settled in for a few days in Fort Blackrot to resupply and plan their next move. Between lessons in pickpocketing, card games, reflections on the nature of reality and one night stands, the Misfits managed to pick up a bit of work.    Their first task was set by the elf Flintosrym, the town alchemist with rumoured Resistance affiliations. Throckmorton came to him in search of a new spell book, he pointed them in the direction of nearby Fallowpeat Bog. After fighting their way through the ghoul-infested bog, they came upon the former cottage of the wizard Wendelmorn, only to discover he had apparently been arrested some time prior by Imperial witch hunters. Though his cottage had been thoroughly ransacked by the Imperials, they had failed to find the secret cache beneath the floor of the hut.   Returning to town with their gains, they set their sights next on the local Freelancers Guild Chapterhouse. Following the confirmation that word of disappearance of the INS Salient had not yet spread this far east, they then inquired into the possibility of joining the Guild. In response, they were pointed in the direction of Worli, a Journeyman Freelancer who happened to be in town. The Misfits made her acquaintance, and she agreed to "Regard" them by taking them along on a job, which would serve as their "Trial".    During their hunt for the bounty in question; a forest gnome druid named Snomlor, Throckmorton, perhaps uncomfortable at the thought of consigning a fellow forest gnome and magic-user to a fiery fate on a pyre, turned on Worli instead. The veteran Freelancer met her death at the hands of the Misfits and Snomlor, who in gratitude gave them money and some supplies before setting off for the relative safety of the North.    In order to attain the Warrants they needed to operate in the Freelancers Guild and take bounties, the Misfits engineered a clever bit of deception with the local Guild Chaptermaster. Veers took on the guise and mannerisms of the deceased and incinerated Worli, convincing the Chaptermaster to confirm the status of Throckmorton, Phyraal and Horatio as Guild Members.  Equipped with their pewter Member-level warrants, they were able to sell their service and simultaneously hitch a lift with a merchant caravan headed to Skaldenburg. After six uneventful days, they found themselves within sight of the gates of the capital.

    Welcome to Skaldenburg
    Discovery, Exploration

On arrival into Skaldenburg, the Misfits, excited at the prospect of being in the big city, quickly split off onto their own ventures. Phyraal, having been denied access to the sea for so long, headed straight towards the sounds of the ocean. Veers tried in vain to stop her, but swam away before she could do anything about it, leading her to consign her to a day paddling about while she returned with a huff to Horatio and Throckmorton. After a day's shopping, during which they acquired a otter named Steppphen, an Elkhound puppy named Stevie, a lynx named Nox and a hamster named Flumblefluff, they settled on spending the next day undertaking a few bounties, leaving Phyraal to her watery activities.  Their first task involved locating one Cockteasia, a goblin of some repute. Following a short chase, they instead agreed that she would be permitted to act as their guide through the city's sewer network. She was able to show them the way to the location of a much more profitable bounty; a Spectator which they swiftly saw to, and then on to a more personal vendetta in the city's cathedral. Here, Horatio seemed set on the destruction of a mysterious arch-deacon named Horond. Although their attack was successful, it was a near run thing, with the party very nearly meeting their fates at the hands of the arch-deacon's Ecclesiarchal Guards. They managed to escape, although with living witnesses to their crimes, it was doubtful they had seen the last of these troubles.

    Saving the Refugees
    Military action

Having learned of the impending danger to a group of religious refugees to a recently destroyed Temple of Thyssia, the group endeavoured to infiltrate a party of witch hunters who had been dispatched by the Church for capture or kill the cultists.  After turning the tables on the witch hunters and rescuing the Thyssian cultists, Phyraal was able to learn more about the fate that awaited those followers of her religion who fell under the thumbs of the Empire; indeed, the fate of anyone who worshipped a god other than the Elder One.   With the witch hunters dead, the group prepared to deal with the aftermath of their double dealing, both in terms of smuggling the cultists safely away to Altharad and explaining the disappearance of the hunters to the authorities which would inevitably come inquiring.

    The Disappearance of the Misfits
    Disaster / Destruction

After finding themselves embroiled with the plots and schemes of the Northern Resistance, the Misfits embarked on a mission from which they would never return. What exactly occurred during this quest, or what became of the Misfits afterwards, is a mystery. But at the start of this new campaign, they have not been heard of for six months...
