North Errusian Goliath Tribes

Before the time of the Midaevian Empire, most of the people of Ordayn had dismissed the Goliath tribes as nothing more than a minor nuisance. During the settling of the North, the ancestors of the modern Ordaynians fought many small but bloody wars for land with their kind. The goliaths had strength and size, but the Ordaynians number slowly, gradually, helped them turn the tide. 
Some goliaths accepted defeat, making the decision to leave their itinerant way of life behind and find a place in the newly founded human kingdom. The tribes that refused to assimilate were pushed to the very fringes of the land, to the ice-covered wastes and dangerous forests at the utmost north of the country. They have dwelt there ever since, surviving by leading herds of elk and aurochs, or by hunting in the Godsbarrow Forest, where they maintain a fragile relationship with the forest gnomes.
However the advent of the Northern Conquests and subsequent decimation of Ordayn has led some of the tribes to start probing the kingdom's defences. And with nothing to stop them besides empty, depopulated countryside, it is entirely possible that Ordayn's destruction may lead to the restoration of the Goliath Tribes.
