Aredwren Eightfingers
Following the loss of their King and the destruction of the Principality of Erladain, many among the Altharademer became increasingly despondent and insular as they sought to preserve what was left of their civilisation. So great was the depth of their sorrow that they could no longer conceive of affairs beyond their own borders, and became increasingly hostile to outsiders, no matter their intentions.
They were the majority, but a minority of Altharadi elves chose to put despair aside and refocus their efforts on fighting to restore what they had lost. The Midaevian Invasion had taught them many hard lessons, one of which was that they could not hope to turn back the tide of the Empire alone. With this in mind, they dispatched agents across the Sea of Tiavyrm to aid and advise the beleaguered Conclave and the Northern Resistance.
One such agent was Aredwren Eightfingers. A student of the Elven Archmagister Ralodorian Galashad, during the Battle of Numorlond, he won fame and reputation by fighting back the Praefect that killed his master, forcing the Imperial sorcerer to retreat, though the effort cost him the pinkie and ring finger on his right hand, as well leaving the same arm with horrific burn scars, though he retained use of it.
Since then, he has committed himself to helping the Northern Kingdoms overthrow the Empire with the intention of one day forming an alliance between the North Errusians and the Altharademer to drive back the Midaevians for good. As the mastermind of some of the Resistance's greatest victories, he has become something of a legend in the Northern Kingdoms, although this has only helped make him a priority target for the Imperial Praefects .
He is often seen in the company of two cats, one black, the other white, with mismatched eyes.. Whether these truly are nothing more than common tabbies is a mystery, as Aredwren has often been seen seemingly conversing with them. But for most of his fellow Resistance fighters, this as just another quirk, one of the many that have helped endear the enigmatic Elven sorcerer to the embattled peoples of the North.
