Stalk
God of the Hunt, Prowess and Survival
Stalk is worshipped as the great owl that brings balance to the world and nature itself. He is prayed to during the hunt. Worshippers of Stalk are often hunters, wanderers, survivalists and hermits. Shrines to Stalk take the form of simple sites often hidden deep in the wilderness. These sites can be hunting lodges, or small shrines decorated with animal offerings.
The clergy of Stalk are referred to as druids, alongside their cousins in service to Solace. Those who worship nature tend to either focus on their reverence for Solace and the plant life of Erolan, or Stalk, and the animals of Erolan. Stalk represents both the hunter and the prey.
The origins of Stalk can be traced back to The Cycle, from within the Therian Tribal Pact. The Cycle is a philosphy that all things come to an end in order to be renewed, and there must be balance between predator and prey. The Therian Tribal Pact culture does not exist apart from it. They believe their worship and practice of the tenets of Stalk are at the center of their very reason for existence. Devout followers of The Cycle travel the world spreading their beliefs to the other kingdoms. They travel with The Grand Caravan of Bhutaar throughout the Kingdom of Zenith and down into Harshhorne, and all the way across the continent to Shire of Barleybuck and the @King.
There is some variety in the way Stalk is worshipped. Found within the Grand Caravan of Bhutar, The Verdant Hand and The Dreamseers keep the tenets of Stalk as well as Solace. They believe Stalk and Solace to be two sides of the same coin. The Verdant Hands are pious monks, while The Dreamseers practice a form of shamanism. Meanwhile, the Iuste Therians worship Stalk almost identically to Erolan Therians, except they recognize Stalk by the name of "The Anybeast".
