Solace
Goddess of Nature, Harvest and Dreams
Solace is worshipped as a rosy cheeked Bobbin wearing clothes mostly made of hemp, grass and other natural materials. The goddess of nature and harvest, her shrines can be found anywhere in the world. These shrines range from as large as the statues in the Kingdom of Yomi, to as small as a farmer’s hut.
The worship of nature is varied and not regimented. Followers of Solace believe that they can interpret the goddess' will through dreams. Solace is prayed to year round to bless crops, ask for forgiveness for cutting down flora, and in times of natural misfortune. Her main worshippers tend to be farmers, lumberjacks, and anyone who makes their livelihood by toiling in the fields and forests. Her clergy are mostly gardeners, druids and people who simply revere nature. Festivals are usually held in her honor every season, with all sorts of bountiful harvests and preparation for the next season.
There is one somewhat organized church of Solace called the Verdant Protectors. They are druids who have traversed outside their groves in order to protect nature more directly. They also aid the citizens of Erolan with healing the sick or wounded, seeding or harvesting, and other agrarian tasks. Their private ceremonies tend to be secretive, but their aid to their communities is well known.
The clergy of the Verdant Protectors maintain the grounds of temples and shrines of Solace around the world. These shrines and temples tend to also be farmhouses, grain houses and greenhouses. They are also seen traveling to the farmland around their temple in order to bless the land and tend to the land with the farmers themselves.
Due to the decentralization of her worship, there are differences in worship in some regions. The @Grand worships Solace in tandem with the god of the hunt, Stalk. They believe that Stalk and Solace are two sides to the same coin. They believe Solace takes over during the day in order to encourage growth and healing, and Stalk takes over at night, to encourage predatory nature and hunting.
Most citizens of Yomi have an extreme love and respect for Solace. The emperor himself believes he is a prophet of the goddess and therefore commands that his people also worship her, though almost all Obake worship her regardless. The people of Yomi believe that nature is the most important aspect of life and strive to be closer to it in order to get closer to Solace. They throw parties, festivals and ceremonies all dedicated to the goddess.
Tenets of the Solace:
Trust in nature and cherish it, for it provides for and takes care of you.
Nature is unforgiving, though it is the natural order and must be respected. There are times when nature must be renewed, in order to maintain the natural order.
The unnatural is a disease, excise it.
Listen to your dreams, they are my lullaby to you.
Sins of Solace:
Defiling nature and using it in excess of what you need.
Attempting to exert your control over nature without respecting the cycle.
