Sindlecote

An exceptionally large canine species, somewhat resembling a direwolf that easily reach the size of a small horse, Sindlecotes are believed to be a byproduct of the "Tenserai" event in Erlyse's history, but conclusive evidence of such has not been acquired. The species deviates from the typical canine species by the presence of an odd, leathery pad that grows on their skull between the eyes which allows them to "see" sound and hone in on heartbeats, as well extra jointed front legs and large rows of bone spines that erupt from their backs in three rows, starting from behind their skulls and ending just prior to their hips. They range in colors from any shade of white to black, and earthen colors such as blue, green or brown. Domesticated Sindlecotes are quite rare, and individuals with the ability to tame them are coveted by militaristic nations such as Uxsager.
