Noctis Beast

Noctis Beasts are a large, omnivorous reptilian creature originating from the underground caverns of the Granite Flats of Lehrmaste. They have been an incredibly popular beast of burden as well as war mounts for many nations and races across Erlyse, and are more often seen as such for the Kobolds, but are often employed by Humans, Altum and Harpies as well, and as such have been distributed throughout the entirety of known lands. While being reptilian, Noctis Beasts are known for their incredible resilience and ability to withstand cold weather as easily as warm thanks to a variety of circumstantial evolutions caused by the specific environment that they were first discovered in.

A Noctis is a fair deal larger than a horse in span, but are nowhere near as bulky. They are an animal that has a balance between agility and strength, and are highly prized travel companions due to their capacity to defend themselves in comparison to their equine parallels, as well as their ability to climb certain terrain and obstacles. With a diet that consists of larger fruits, melons, rodents and fish, a Noctis is not a threat to most sapient species unless poorly trained, mistreated or specifically taught to be so.
