Nal'tua
Enigmatic and stoic defenders of nature, and former masters of the domain of Erlyse.
The Nal'tua are a sapient race whose history originates on the continent of Ourobos, unlike the other races of Erlyse who hail from Lehrmaste. They are a relatively isolationist race of pseudo-dragonkin changelings with extreme dimorphism and a deep respect for the proper flow of life and the energies that power the forces of the universe. All Nal'tua are considered exceptionally wise for their age in comparison to the other races.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Nal’tua are unique in the fact that they are born with two souls within them, and are technically born pregnant with a special egg which grows as they mature. Upon maturity, the Nal’tua will bear this egg, and this second soul will inhabit it. Once born, the egg and the ‘mother’ both end up manifesting magical markings over their forms while the being within the egg readies to hatch. The hatchlings are by all technical accounts the “dragons” of Erlyse, and serve as the males of their species, more often than not taking their own ‘mother’ and ‘sibling’ as their mate to create more Nal’tua. The resulting offspring are all female, which in turn leads to more males, making their gender division practically 50/50.
Female Nal’tua are human looking, but are easily identified by their ram-style horns which jutt out from the temples of their foreheads, large almost bovine-like ears which typically hide behind the horns, near reptilian like feet with three clawed toes and a single fleshy tendril which sprouts from the base of their skull where their neck begins, all of which reflect a color scheme to be expected as the color of their dragon egg and resulting mate. They are tall, typically around seven to eight feet in height (Yet can reach over ten feet), and usually carry fairly voluptuous figures. Male Nal’tua are quadrupedal, winged and horned beasts that have a general appearance similar to dragons with exception to distinct other details. Most are furred, though scaled types do exist (since all male Nal’tua have scales, it just depends on if their fur hides them or not), and have heads which more resemble wolves than reptiles. They have super elongated humanoid hands for front feet which sport heavy, thick curved sickle claws on the ends of their thumbs. Typically a male Nal’tua reaches approximately between twelve and sixteen feet long, though there have been shorter and longer ones in history. Like more typical fantasy dragons, the males are capable of emitting elemental blasts from their mouths, within the following categories: bolts of lightning, jets of flame, toxic or caustic sprays, or sheer concussive blasts of wind.

Culture and Cultural Heritage
The Nal'tua operate within a culture which could be drawn in parallel with pre-Edo period Japan in many ways, more specifically in their ideals, beliefs, fashion and their architecture. They have a caste system that is ran mostly in a feudal-like structure, where the more powerful leaders of their kind, regardless of gender, govern as Kaip-tar, or "Elevated Ones" and preside over larger swaths of territory that have been titled "states" by other races.

Shapeshifting
Nal'tua, believing to have originated from the location in, or around the region known as Metamorphosis Cove in Ethaesca, were subjected to low levels of constant Ley energies during their evolution, and developed a natural capacity to shapeshift into various, but limited, types of animals of Erlyse. This ability is only displayed by the females of the species that have borne the egg they carry upon their own birth, and thus are considered adults. A decent portion of the female Nal'tua join one of four sects of their kin which adopt a type of druidic culture, each with their own viewpoints and traditions that set them apart from one another.
