Dice of Fate

Dice of fate is a popular game played in taverns across Lyrinthia. It is a came of chance that is played using 4 dice specific to that game. The dice are 6 sided. 2 sides have a "+" marked on it, two sides have a "-" marked on it, while the remaining two sides have no markings on them at all. The game is played with two or more people round a table. If there is gambling involved, each player must put money into a pot, (determined by the players at the time) before the game begins.   When the game is ready to begin, the first player rolls their 4 dice onto the table and not the markings the starting score is 0, each "+" adds 1 to their score, each "-" removes 1 from their score and a blank side does nothing to the player's score. After the new score is noted by the player, the dice are handed to the next player to roll.   Once all players have rolled their dice, the person with the highest score wins.   There are different game variants from region to region. Some games only have a single round to play, others have a best of 3, where the score resets after each round. Another popular variant is where the score is cumulative over several rounds, where players are trying to get either the highest score in a set number of rounds, or be the first to reach a certain score.   When it comes to gambling, the pot is either won after each round, and a fresh pot put in at the start of each new round, or for longer formats the pot is won at the end, with occasionally more money being placed in at the end of each round to make things more interesting for the players.
