Ankarr began his career in Maopolis, where he studied, and worked at the Academy of Wizards for more than twenty years. Born to a baseborn family Ankarr was acutely aware that he would never attain the levels of power his noble-blooded colleagues would despite his greatness. Indeed, Ankarr speaks ill of his early career and cites many instances of peers claiming credit for his work as a reason he left the Magi Republic.
