Ushanni Government
Ruling body of the Ushanni people who reside in the Ushanni Verdance, the grasslands along and south of the Flos River.
It is a decentralized government, each town elects a local leader to the title Marquess; they are held together mostly by economic and cultural ties. There is a kind of upper class- among these vegan farmers, growing flowers is a status symbol for those so prosperous they can devote time and energy to a vanity crop- except for Armeria Maritima which is dominated by glass making (emphasis on the mage glass craft). This is why the towns are name for flowers: Armeria Maritima (“Thrift” grows by the sea and heals poison), Helianthus (sunflower), Iris, Paeonia (Peony), and Tulipa. The two most important cities, and thus most powerful Marqs, are Armeria Maritima and Iris- Iris due to it's trade with Pelee, Evestria, and Taris, and Aemeria Maritima, AKA Maritima, due to both it's trade with Renamos and Nidavir and it's glass making trade.
Every Marquess travels quarterly to The Garden where they meet for two weeks; this is called The Marq.
They rely on priests of Joran to make judgements and rule on most disputes, however disputes falling under the purview of other deities are still handled by the local Marquess.
Regional specific production: Glass, mage glass, wheat/flour, hazelnuts, peanuts, barley, whiskey & beer, cotton, long grain rice, vanilla, beans, garlic, produce (tomatoes, lettuce, carrots, turnips, broccoli, beets, etc), fruit (peaches, strawberries, nectarine, etc)
Trade & Transport
The city centers trade with riverboats. Armeria Maritima also has a fleet of sea going merchant ships that they use to trade with Renamos, Nidavir, and the south (later Nemel as well).
