Personal history

Asar was from a large family in the Wayhill region. He sought for a way to stand out and distinguish himself. When the War of the Burning Forests began and the Republic of Tirine was looking for soldiers he eagerly volunteered. He fought bravely in several battles, but did not rise in rank as his leadership skills were found to be lacking. After the war he joined an adventuring group alongside Derric Engleden known as The Heroes of Raven's Claw. The group had several successful adventures and rose to some fame in the area. After a particularly difficult but lucrative adventure, Derric decided to retire from adventuring and settle down. Asar attempted to keep the group together but the heart of the group was gone. There were a few more adventures but only mild success. It was at this time that Derric heard of Englden's Hold and found that he was jealous of his former friend. While he had squandered his fortune, Derric was still making a name for himself. Asar convinced himself that Derric had cheated him out of treasure that was rightfully his and sought him out. After confronting and being rebuked by Derric, Asar hired a band of mercenaries and they attacked Engleden's Hold. Eventually Derric tracked down Asar and his men and in a bloodly battle in an ancient crypt, Asar and his men were slain. It is here that his remains lie.

History

The two met during the War of the Burning Forests and adventured together as part of The Heroes of Raven's Claw . After several adventures, they decided to go their separate ways, Derric wanting a quieter life while Asar craved more adventure. A few years passed when Asar showed up at a small hold that Derric had established in the Wayhill region. It was here that Asar accused Derric of shorting him on treasure. The two argued about it and no resolution was reached, and Asar left fuming. Shortly he would return with a band of mercenaries and attacked Engleden's Hold repeatedly, claiming that treasure that belonged to him was being kept there. The hold repelled the attacks and eventually Derric took a band of willing men to search for Asar's stronghold. They found and confronted Asar who was hiding out in an ancient crypt a couple of days travel from Engleden's Hold. Asar and his men were defeated. The group from Engleden returned home but they too had taken losses and two days later Derric Engleden himself succumbed to his wounds.
