Coruscations

A disease that causes a build up of radiant energy in the infected.

It has been hypothesized that Coruscations is more common in those that have had magical healing than those that haven't.

Causes

No one knows how someone acquires this disease. It is thought to be an imbalance of elements within the body, where the body accumulates too much radiant energy.

Symptoms

In the early stage, the infected feels amazing. Most marvel at their newfound health, few suspect that they are in fact, quite the opposite. The target rejuvenates one age category towards adult.
In stage two, the infected moves another age category younger to adult. If the infected is younger than adult, they age up one category. It becomes obvious to most, that something is out of the ordinary at this stage. Mania often manifests at this stage.
Stage Three comes about when the body is supersaturated with energy. At this stage not only does the infected feel better than he ever has in his life, they are better, showing strength, speed and endurance they've never had before, sometimes even superhuman. The body begins to glow and gets ever more bright over the course of days. Towards the end of this stage the character can cause small plants to sprout and heal small wounds and scratches with a touch.
Stage Four the body is so saturated with energy that it begins to disintegrate. Over the course of a day, the infected becomes ever weaker as it begins to disintegrate more and more rapidly. Finally, too weak to do more than speak, the infected fully disintegrates into ribbons of light.

Treatment

There is no known natural cure for this disease. Even alchemy is of limited usefulness, especially when it reaches stage three.
Known alchemical cures involve ashes from the undead in elixirs of varying ingredients, all expensive.
