Zestós

Zestós is known as the Wine Capital of Eregost, and for good reason. Over half the wine made in the Authenian Republic is made in Zestós. Zestósian wine is well known for its quality and exquisite taste. Bottles of Zestósian wine are regularly shipped to the Venatorian Empire, and occasionally crates of it can be found in the Ceilic Region, though this is a rare occurrence.

Geography

Zestós is mostly level, though it is connected to several small, rocky canyons. It is a landlocked region, though the Nikós river does flow through the area, providing fresh water. The Prosektikós lake is the only other source of fresh water in this region aside from the rain.

Climate

Zestós is comfortably warm all year round and snow or frost is practically unheard of. The weather is usually sunny or partially cloudy, and when it does rain, the water is slightly warm.

Fauna & Flora

A large number of both domestic and wild fruits can be found in the region, though grapes and strawberries are the most commonly grown. A small number of cacti can be found throughout the region, and the hallucinogenic fruits grown by some of species are used by the Church of Dionysus in some of their rituals.   Small numbers of Apollonian Foxes can be found wandering the wildernes of Zestós, often migrating in the winter to escape the cold of Mount Olympus and its surrounding areas. Oxes can be found wandering the fields throughout Zestós, and are occasionally hunted for their leather, meat and horns.

Tourism

Zestós is regularly visisted by tourists seeking to taste what is arguably the finest wine in Eregost. The warm weather and peaceful landscape makes it an ideal place for richer Authenians to retire.   Due to the fine wine and excellent weather, Zestós is often seen as the ideal place within the Authenian Republic to hold a wedding.   The Church of Dionysus has its largest temple within Zestós, and it is frequently visited by his followers.
