Athos (continent)

Athos is the largest continent in Erdos. It is home to many kingdoms and many races. Although there are other continents in Erdos, Athos is certainly the largest and one of the most hospitable, giving rise to the largest amount of racial diversity in Erdos.
Although the term "Athos" officially refers to the entire continent, it is often understood to also refer specifically to the lands west of the Inner Sea and the World Strait.
Geologically, Athos is similar in size to Earth's super-continent Pangaea. Significantly, Athos has only recently begun to break apart, forming two main regions separated primarily by the Inner Sea and the World Strait. Athos sits mostly in the Northern hemisphere; it stretches from just below the equator nearly to the Ice Lands in the north.
