House Graelingard

House Graelingard is the principal ruling dynasty of the Holmgardian Empire, and their members account for 27 of the 38 Holmgardian Emperors.
Though their origins are lost in time, they rose to unprecedented power around 0 HR with the unification of the Holmgardian tribes under Holm Graelingard after the Battle of Frostfang Pass. Abandoning polytheism , House Graelingard and the Empire thrived under the sole patronage of the war-like god Tyr .

Since then, House Graelingard has ruled the Empire for the majority of its history, being only deposed temporarily from the Mithril Throne by usurper dynasties. Their Emperors forged an imperial cult around their house, with members of the Graelingard dynasty being widely considered to be the chosen of Tyr - with the Emperor being His living representative on the Material Plane.
