Hastsel
Hastsel is a small city state on the edge of Human civilization. It is the starting point for the campaign.
Demographics
Mostly Human, some Dwarven craftsmen and merchants, some Orcs. The Orcs are generally adventurers, mercenaries or traders. Elves may be seen but don't generally live here. The richest are the royalty and nobles. The nobles each have estates surrounding Hastsel while the nobility live in the keep. The merchants are the next tier economically. Craftsmen and mercenaries make up the middle class. The rest tend to be farmers, fishermen, hunters, laborers and are generally poor.
Government
The King rules Hastsel and has granted land to several nobles just outside the city. The nobles are responsible for taxing/collecting rents from the people on their land and in turn pay taxes to the King.
Defences
Walls around the city help protect it from goblins. They are primarily wood. There are watchtowers along the wall. The city gates are open during the day and closed (but manned) at night.
There are also a few galleys to protect the docks and fishermen from pirates (or lizard men, whatever...)
Industry & Trade
Fishing, farming, logging are the main industries of Hastsel. There is a small quarry, but most stone and iron come from trade.
Infrastructure
As it is a self contained city-state, Hastsel has a little of everything.
Guilds and Factions
There is a branch of the Blacksmith Guild in Hastsel.
