Siggs
A Human tribe. The Siggs were among the last men to enter Ettrea as part of the Great Migration from the west. According to legend, they were led by the hero Hus aef Sigg.
Unlike most men who came to Ettrea, the Siggs refused to serve the High Elf rulers of the Old Empire . Instead, they settled in the then desolate northeast of Ettrea, west of the Black River . This land had been part of the Old Empire, but was laid waste by the Giants during the early part of the War of the Elves and the Giants. With the Giants in retreat, the Siggs found plenty of still fertile land in which to settle. This land became Sigsland and the kingdom established there the Kingdom of Sigsland. The term "Siggs" is an archaic term referring specifically to the original tribe who settled in northeast Ettrea, the land now known as Sigsland. The term Sigsmen is a rather looser term denoting those men who dwell in Sigsland and who belong to its culture.
