Thunderpeaks

These tall and sharp peaks mark the northern border of Evangil and considered by many to the south as the end of civilized land. The mountains are neigh impenetrable and have protected Evangil to the south from many threats over the century. Everything from magically powered storms to invasions by Kjalga Urgu have been defeated by the imposing mountains. Even so, there are passes and narrow valleys that pierce the Thunderpeaks, some large and well protected by border forts and other dark and forgotten, used only by smuggelers, orcish scouts and a plethora of monsters that prowl the shadows waiting for prey.

Kingdom of Evangil know all to well that they cannot patrol the entirety of the long mountain range and has instead opted to build border forts and towers to keep an eye on the passes that are most likely to be used by invaders and rowing monsters. Gleen´s Watch is the largest of these towers standing alone at the largest mountain pass, called the Niltharn pass. Castle Engelheart sits at the centre of these defences, placed far up in the Thunderpeaks along strategic pathways that allow the forces garissoned there to venture out at a moments notice to reinforce the border forts and towers should an enemy appear.
