Tharak Stonefall

Tharak carries himself with quiet stoicism, a gruff exterior hiding an equally gruff interior. Firstborn son in his family, he spent his early years in the Thane's army, protecting his home against servants of the dragons, and ratmen incursions. He travels the world to fulfill a promise he made to his father, Thamdul. Well into the second century since the oath was sworn, he seems only more determined with each passing decade, adding to his outward mannerism. In a fight, Tharak is a veritable mountain, slow moving but unstoppable, able to shrug off blows that would fell a lesser dwarf. "Too annoyed to die" is a term some people who have seen him in a fight have used.

Personal history

As a firstborn of Clan Stonefall, Tharak was immediately destined to undertake the familial quest of recovering the ancient family weapon lost millennia ago. Quest as futile as it is ancient, the Stonefall Clan has been sending the firstborn child of the clan's leader on this mission since the first day of the clan's existence. This tradition created a rather prolific clan, ensuring the lineage continues through the years thanks to an unusually high number of children born with the name Stonefall.
His early years were spent like any dwarf of Tal'Kadre, serving in the Thane's armies. Fortune would have it that during these years, Eraneth was plunged into the dragon wars and Tal'Kadre was besieged by the forces of the dragons, thus ending Tharak's monotonous service. During the battles, Tharak distinguished himself by holding a breach in the surface walls by himself long enough for reinforcements to arrive and relieve him. Once the adrenaline of the fight left him, he nearly died, requiring days of recovery. His feat earned him not a small amount of prestige in the Thane's armies, as well as future assignments in the frontlines of the war, continuing to prove himself a veritable wall of armor, stopping the waves of enemies wherever he made an appearance.
With the war over, and his service in Thane's armies finished, Tharak vanished into the family's forge for a few months, emerging with a suit of mithril lamellar and a shield of his own making. Upon taking the familial oath he ventured out into the world, taking on dangerous missions that would take him into the depths caverns beneath Eraneth in hopes of one day recovering the familial weapon.

Education

Military training with apprenticeship at the forge. Tharak is a decent armorsmith and seems to have acquired a knack for acquiring trivia about many dwarven battles and their heroes from history of the Onar
