Archmage of Tircha

Qualifications

Officially, there are no qualifications needed, though generally the new archmage is chosen from among the most accomplished mages in Tircha.

Requirements

The individual must be a free citizen of the Mageocracy of Tircha. This is officially the only requirement. Though the Arcane Council would never elect someone who wouldn't fulfil the unofficial requirements. Unofficially, the individual needs to be a highly ranked mage in one of the colleges and have shown some capacity of management.

Appointment

There is a ceremony during which the sitting members of the Arcane Council grant the new Archmage it's title.

Duties

To act as a figurehead of the Arcane Council.

Responsibilities

The Archmage acts as the tiebreaker vote in the Arcane Council. Generally, the Archmage doesn't take part in the vote unless it's necessary. They do however ask probing questions to have the other councillors explain their positions.

Accoutrements & Equipment

What accending to the position of Archmage, a signet ring of the office is made to represent them. The ring is unique, though the design does incorporate the symbol of the office.
