Tempest Point
The city of Tempest Point is a sight to behold. The royal avenue is talked about all the way to the Kingdom of the White Mountains and their best artisans are known around the world for their works.
Demographics
Mostly humans, though given the acceptance of tieflings after the new princess was born, tieflings from all over the world have flocked to Tempest Point to make a new life for themselves. Every other race can also be found here, but they are few in number.
Government
The head of government is the emperor, but the person running the day to day tasks of the city is the City Gouvernor which reports to the Master of domestic affairs.
Defences
The city has 3 sets of walls. The royal circle is the inner most wall and consits of the Royal Avenue, the Steel Avenue and the Administrative Avenue. The inner circle is the middle set of walls and consists of the ones that are doing well for themselves. This can be well off merchants, families of higher ranking soldiers, those involved with running the administration of the city and families of previous noble families. The outer circle has the poorest streets, but compared to Ryjim and Mintar, Tempest Point has no real poor areas as those who cannot affoard basic necesities are assisted by the ruling class.
Industry & Trade
Tempest Point's main industries are fishing and farming. However, artisan work and trading makes up a large portion of the total industry of the city.
Infrastructure
Tempest Point has watermills in the middle of the city running along the river. Most of them are owned by artisans that need them to power machinery they need for work. The city also has a sewer system that keeps the street clean from filth. There are also shipyards in the city, but the largest one are owned by the royal family.
Assets
The City of Tempest Point has many renowned artisans and merchants. It has goods of both the luxury and exotic kind, but the city is not tailored for the rich and powerful. The Royal Avenue is known for it's magnificent buildings and expensive establishments. The rest of the city has many initiatives to assist the poor.
Guilds and Factions
The city houses the storm artisan guild, which is responsible for collecting taxes from the artisan workers, but also helping them should any tragedy strike their work. The storm merchant league also has their headquarters in the city, they are like the artisan guild, but for merchants.
For those interested in more unlawful buisness, the royal family has always been ruthless in stomping out organized crime, so there is no present thives guild or anything else of the sort.
History
Tempest point was founded as a tiny fishing village in 348. Eventually the House of Storm gained control of the area and made their capital where the old fishing village stood. The city has been attacked 3 times. Once by bandits when they were still building the city, once by pirates that wanted to sieze a particularly expensive shipment and once by a rival house which was destroyed.
Architecture
Due to fears of a city wide fire, no buildings in the inner circle of the city is made of wood. However, the outer circle's buildings are about 30% wooden bulidings.
Geography
Tempest Point is buildt on plains and surrounded by farmlands. A river runs through the city and it is buildt on the coast.
Natural Resources
Since it is buildt at the coast, Tempest point has a lot of fish and other aquatic resources. It is also surrounded by farmland which provides the city with the remainder of it's food.
