The gods enter into a pact of minimal interference in the lives of mortals and limits their access to magic.
The fall of the Galadin Ascendancy and the banishment of Cthylla, Goddess of Balance and Entropy, into the Void.
This event refers not one battle or military action but the persistent and ongoing acts of aggression against the tribes and city-states that now make up the country of Nordwind. During this time, entire family lines were wiped out and many free peoples were enslaved by Morag'dul. This conflict lead to the consolidation of the independent tribes into a single country, known as Nordwind. The Council of Nine has a representative from each of the historical tribes. Lord Rathbone was an important figure in the War of Eternal Night. He was human in those days, but a lich before the war ended. He fought on the side of the people who now inhabit the lands around Whitespire. He changed himself into a lich and his lover, Haleth, into a death knight. They were eventually driven out and rejected by the people of Whitespire.
King Margrave Rolfe of Nordwind and King Tristrum Carne of Suthland both claimed the throne of Nordwind as rightful king. They were, in fact, distant cousins in a royal line that was large and convoluted. King Rolfe gained the newly created (and short lived) throne of Nordwind after a great deal of political maneuvering and, some say, underhanded dealings. In the end, Queen Adelaide of Hamstede moderated a peace treaty but not before atrocities had been committed on both sides for almost ten years. Suthland captured and took prisoners (many of which were never returned). Nordwind killed all but one member of the royal family of Suthland, a three-year-old old girl, Corra (the niece of the king) and the king himself. One condition of the treaty was that Nordwind would no longer have a king, but would once again be ruled by a Council of Nine chosen from the nine tribal provinces: Whitespire, North Highlands, South Highlands, Summer Haven Isle, Cobalt Coast, River District, The East Planes, Jute’s Coast, West Valley, The Borderlands. (Colloquially this war was known as the “Clash of Cocks”)
Cthylla, goddess over the domains of balance and entropy, is restored to the Eradani pantheon.
