Omniel, God of Ingenuity

God of Ingenuity Omniel

Omniel is the youngest of the gods of Epposia, born after the others but before the beginning of the recorded history that his influence is responsible for. Omniel represents the ingenuity of the races of man and beastman, their problem solving and ability to develop technology in a forwards-moving direction. Hot headed and brash, Omniel is often referred to as the "Crafter's God" due to his tendency to spark others into a fit of inspiration during which they can focus solely on the task presented them until a solution is devised. Those who worship him are, by that same token, often artisans whose livelihood is dependent on their ability to perform to the expectation of those who commission from them; other followers of Omniel include politicians and other public servants. While out of favor due to the outlaws on magic, the old laws have protected his worshipers from seeing any vengeance for their beliefs. His influence can be seen in the architecture built by those who worship him and in humans, specifically, who owe their cognitive abilities to him as a gift to Camael.

A gold sledgehammer smashing into obsidian, or a torch of divine flame.

Tenets of Faith

Progress: One must never stop moving forward. You must remain ever-marching, an eternal forward moving force towards progress. If it halts you, crush it. If it confounds you, understand it. If it distracts you, remove it. And if it hinders you, shrug it off.   Feel Your Spark: The spark of genius lies in each and every creature across the planet and it must be explored and kindled that it might be a burning flame that acts like a torch for when you lose your way, for lose your way you will. A person's path will not always be as clear-cut as it seems, and there will come a time where one will explore the options that lie before them.   Never Give Up: You will be challenged, as it is the way of things. Life will not always present you the clearest and cleanest path to your desires, but you must prevail and persevere. Your hand will be forced, and it will be unsteady at times. Feel the light glowing within you and use it to keep you steady.   See The Torch: In the end, you will be judged by The Torch's flame. My Torch will take you to the end with your deeds and paths in mind - and as such, keep it in your eyes always. Revere it above all others symbols and sigils - when the Torch is presented, you must take action.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

Omniel has many goals; as the patron saint of craftsmen and inventors, he seeks to inspire their ingenuity in everything that he does. It is by his hand that great strides are made, and by his will that those strides ignite the Spark within every creature. A creature's Spark is to be cultivated and honed, something that he seeks to temper. But beyond that, Omniel seeks to light the way to bring creatures together.

The clang of hammer against forge is all you can hear as you approach the blacksmith. Even the chatter of sale is lost to the sound of that forge being hammered away at tirelessly. As you come into sight of it you are greeted by the wave of intense heat that hits you before he even has a chance to greet you. His words are curt as he works, his focus on the project in his hands before even you who looks to buy from him. When you tell him what you are looking to get, he nods his head toward it and then the jar that is clearly labelled for payment. As you purchase your item, you feel the urge to commission from him - a magical item to defend yourself in the wilds. As the final clang of his hammer hits the blade, you realize it is what you were looking to purchase all along.   As you take it from him and pass payment along to him, you can feel the presence of his intensity even as you turn your gaze to him. Even as you do, he has already taken up another ingot and started to work again. There is another customer in line already. You leave, feeling the strength of the blade in your hand.
