Personal history

Vengeance

Before death, Deadweaver was once a victim of a family of corrupt knights who tortured many people who they assumed guilty. It is thus that the spirit of Deadweaver wished to seek revenge on their bloodline for the torment he endured, and so cursed and killed all of the bloodline that yet lived. The curse caused their souls to remain trapped in their body even after death, leaving them rotting.

Interloper

In 650 Silver Age, Deadweaver terrorizes Longdale, stating he will curse the forest until a sacrifice is made. Past midnight, Doppel gets sent to the mansion and meets Asher, the last member of the mansion's family to live. Together they find a basement where Deadweaver has set up torturous traps for them to endure. However, Doppel went through a sealed door which wasn't intended for anyone to go through, a magic seal was even upon the door, yet he walked in as if the seal was never there. Asher attempted to go Doppel’s route too, but the seal worked on him and was forced to go Deadweaver’s intended path.

Forgiveness

In the end, Deadweaver laughed as Asher reached a dead-end sealed door, of which Doppel opened from the other side with the help of spirits he had calmed. Deadweaver attempts to fight them himself. It is then, with Doppel's kindness, that Deadweaver’s more innocent side shows. He desires to be freed of his vengeful form, and believed that the death of all who wronged him may bring it. After the killing of Asher’s family in life and death, he still remained, and so he attempted to kill him, but a family heirloom Asher found after his death kept Deadweaver’s grasp away from him. Deadweaver had then decided to set up his own ways of torture and, after completion, gain enough power to travel beyond the mansion and demand one of the residents to meet him, planning to bring them the torment he once received in hopes it would satisfy his spirit and send him into the Spirit Realm. After these failures he wept, believing he will never be freed of this accursed form. Asher, with his elemental abilities, is capable of slaying Deadweaver here and now, which in his mind would technically free him, and - although now more reluctant - Asher still wants to avenge his family.

Clarity

Doppel shows Deadweaver love, something he had never experienced for many years, and Asher apologises for his relatives wrongdoings, but states that he nor his own parents were like them. In a state of clarity, Deadweaver apologises back, but knows no amount of apologising will help. Instead, he offers to take Asher’s soul to be freed alongside his own, so that Asher may find his family in the Spirit Realm. Asher says farewell and thank you to Doppel, and both skeleton and ghost fade peacefully.
