Lions of Brindol Organization in Eotha | World Anvil

Lions of Brindol

The Lions of Brindol are the personal troops of House Jarmaath and one of the most elite regiments of mortal soldiers in Eotha. The Lions are also one of the only standing military forces and have a multidiscipline training regime intended to make them highly adaptable to different needs.

Public Agenda

To serve their liege by defending Brindol and its environments from any threat that can be met by steel, arrow or magic.

Assets

The lions are a roughly 200 strong company divided into 4 platoons. Each platoon consists of 6 infantry squads, 2 Calvary squads (trained and equipped as scouts), one platoon cleric, one academy trained mage, a quartermaster and his assistants, two dedicated couriers, a chronical, a lawyer and the lieutenant who commands them. Lions of Brindol are empowered to train and conscript local militias as directed by Lord Jarmaath or the local Bailiff/Lord to whom they have been loaned.

History

The Lions of Brindol were Lord Jarmaath's response to the loss security provided by the landed gentry who died in the Battle of Blue Blood. Many of the local barons and what heirs were still alive were usually under age to serve and banditry began to climb steeply following Brindol secession from the Kingdom of Wyrthanhaal.   Jarmaath conceived of the notion that an elite cadre of adaptable troops could be used both to police the roadways and deal with bandits or roving monster. While many nobles died at the Battle of Blue Blood, most of Brindol's trained warriors and huscurls survived, it was these that formed the base of the original Lions of Brindol. Since that date the Lions of Brindol have become a household name and there isn't a Lord of settlement in the city-state that has not benefited from their interventions at one time or another.
