Gadlinook

Gadlinook lies on the eastern coast of Eoth. Once a district of Gran Kesh, Gadlinook claimed independence two generations ago. Since then, political tensions between them have been strained, but have been able to avoid conflict owing to the expense of such as endeavor. However, as both countries have grown, both in population and army size, armed conflict may be inevitable.
The capitol of Gadlinook is the seaport city of Barz.
Despite the political differences, trade between the countries remains strong. While Gran Kesh does some sea trade with other countries, Gadlinook has much closer and more favorable seaports, and has a clearly superior navy, and thus controls the trade routes, particularly in the vicinity of Brin Bay.

Gadlinook is primarily human, but has a substantial (20%) population of elves, dwarves, and gnomes. Many of these were driven out of Gran Kesh generations past.
An unfavorable harvest has hurt the fruit and grain production of Gran Kesh in the past year, weakening their trade negotiations, and reducing the taxable income. This has given Gadlinook a trade advantage which they are making full use of, increasing the size of their army and navy.
