Honour, shield of Anselm

The Myth:

Honour forms the first part of the set of unique magical items that Anselm was granted by the goddess of Luna herself. It is said that shortly after conquering the South of Albion, Anselm was bathing in a silvery lake near the Susland Woods. Finding a green-golden shimmer in the centre of the lake itself, he dove to retrieve it, leaving his attendants behind.   What he found was not treasure, but a young green dragon, glistening in the sun and water. Eye-witness accounts told and retold over centuries claim that Anselm wrestled the young dragon to the ground with his bare hands, sparing its life. In exchange, the dragon gave him half of his hoarded treasure and a promise to rule the Susland Woods as a vassal of the Empire for as long as he lived. Anselm agreed.   After returning to the newly colonised city of Zaragoza with the treasure, a shield was found among it. When touched by anyone except Anselm, a great pain would befall them. Anselm took the shield, and immediately pledged his allegiance not just to Pelor but to Luna as well, his men around him following suit. Since then, both deities have been revered across Albion as husband and wife.
