The Cypress Syndicate is both mysterious and powerful - no matter where you are in the world, it seems that you are only one step away of having their eyes on you, if ever happen to step out of the path of ordinary. It is a collection of smaller groups of occult practioners with one joined common goal: to preserve their excistence and keep the super natural from prying eyes of hose that might become a problem.

Being the world's self-appointed occult-police, The Cypress Syndicate divides opinions. Their watchful eyes bring comfort, safety and and relief for many, while to others they are hunters and gatekeepers of information, unchecked power that keeps on growing in the shadows.

History

No one is exactly sure how old is the Cypress Syndicate, but it is speculated that it's predecessors might have been already present in antiquity. Groups of priests, magisters and scholars came together to share information and deal with threats of their local areas. However, it wasn't before late middle ages when a larger need for the protective walls of the Syndicate truly became nessessary. Witchtrials, plaques and famines made the presence of occult pratitioners and supernatural entities more dangerous and further steps where required to make sure that occult pratices would not die of, while keeping dangerous magics and entities lashing out to general populance.
