The Pagans and the Green King
“Sings we a dances of wolves, who smells fear and slays the coward.
Sings we a dances of mans, who smells gold and slays his brother.” — Pagan Saying
Those that worship the powers of Chaos, in its many forms and flavors are collectively known as Pagans. What they believe trickster represents or is, and if its intents are good, evil, or something in between is as diverse as the end goals as those who believe in it. The good of raw creation, they are the will to live incarnate, that makes the trees grow as much as the locusts that strip them bear. It is that which strives against the firm order created by Man and those that follow the Builder and is worshiped in some form by anyone by anyone who attempts against the actions of the Builder, be they lovers of nature, thieves, deviants, or the forces of evil.
The The Trickersters priests come in many forms. Some are druids while others are priests and cultists who believe that where the Trickster wanders, power follows. While their beliefs are diverse and not always good, in some of the teachings of the Honeymaker, the antithesis of his words is done by the Defiler, who perverts his creations for their own use.
The God of Chaos is known by many names, based on the particular beliefs of those worshiping them: The Woodsie Lord, The Honeymaker, The Jacksberry, The Leaf-Man, The Woodsie One, The Leafy Lord, The Harvester, The Gillsweet, The Bear, The Worming Death, The Hoofed Liar, The Leaf Devil, The Woodsie King/Queen, The Leafy King/Queen, The Chaotic One, Gaia, The Eldest, They who Wrought the World, The True Fey
