Full of vim and vigor, gnomes live life as if it's the best thing to ever happen. Their constant enthusiasm for everything is welcome in most places, be they as entertainers, engineers, craftsmen, or simple wanderers.

Naming Traditions

Gnomes love names and often have over a dozen of them. All of a gnome's family members give them a different name, and each gnome often comes up with a new name for each person they meet. Their names are often taken from distant relatives, but they can be entirely original creations. 
Gnome names are usually fun-to-say sounds mixed together to create a name; some gnomes also choose to name themselves after objects or concepts they find particularly interesting. For example, a gnome might be named Yarly to his mother, Gribble to his father, and Insect to their non-gnome friends.

History

The gnomes and dragonborn lived in close proximity for several centuries before the dragonborn started to grow aggressive

gnomes were outcast from their homeland by the dragonborn during the War of Exile.

Due to this, they were forced to settle in what would later become Goldfield, living in the swamps before figuring out how to reach the islands above.

As a whole, they now enjoy a life free of (most) strife and the freedom to do what they want. they still have dragonborn though
