Kahea'ike Holumu
(a.k.a. Jackal)
Kahea'ike, or Jackal, is a member of Sunrise. She is reputable among the group for being a cold, quick-witted loner.

Personal history
Kahea'ike was raised in a small village that prided itself on its community. A person could easily spend their entire day with half of the population before heading back home to sleep, and may even be able to do so without needing to depend on their own food to eat throughout the day. And Kahea'ike hated it. For whatever reason, she could never fully adapt to the extroversion of Pekeparu like her family and everyone else could so effortlessly.
So, to try and adapt to this lifestyle, her first instinct was to study them. She spent days at a time in her room overlooking the streets or snug up against a wall near the market, tracking these people and their routines and mannerisms. Though she never figured out a solid reasoning, she did discover a fascination with studying people. She continued this even after her initial "experiment" ended, continually focusing on the peoples' habits, travel, relationships, and more minutiae that gave her insight into their lives.
Around the age of 14, this led Kahea'ike to some kleptomanic tendencies. After stockpiling dossiers on nearly every one of her neighbors, including where they kept their valuables and snacks, she couldn't help thinking about them whenever she passed those homes by. Eventually, greed forced her to cave and she snuck into the first empty home she saw, surely enough finding a small piece of jewelry. From that day, she learned that information is power, and continued to locate and retrieve various items from other peoples' homes.
But within several months, she had grown tired of taking things from these simple peoples' homes. Nobody had suspected her for even a moment, and everything she now had was losing its intrinsic value to her. She waited patiently for the COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY and left Pekeparu, bound on a ship toward New Aquaine.
She found much greater satisfaction in the sprawling port city, moving up from dock workers to even some lower nobility, even if it meant having to deal with the occasional patrolling guard. However, when making her way into one easy mark's home just for kicks, she found herself at the business end of a broadsword, the property of Kresla Aizmirst.
Kahea'ike was completely dumbfounded as to how she had managed to get caught by this supposedly helpless old crone. Kresla showed her mercy and explained that she had been watching Kahea'ike, and was willing to answer any questions in exchange for hearing her out about a promising opportunity. That night, Kahea'ike walked away from Kresla's house as a new member of Sunrise.
Relationships
History
Kresla was originally intended to be a victim of Kahea'ike's robbery, but turned the tables by catching her in the act. This was how Kresla induced Kahea'ike into Sunrise, primarily by promising a way to help her gain more information and expand her horizons.
