Basic Information

Anatomy

Proteka have a large bald head with bulbous eyes. They have humanoid bodies that are much proportionally smaller than their head.

Biological Traits

Ancestral Blood: Affinity for advanced technology courses through their veins. Whenever a Proteka makes a Craft(Technology), Energy Shield, Energy Weapons, or Knowledge(Technology) check they may reroll the die. If they do so they must take the second roll.
Breathing Skin: Proteka absorb nutrients through the outer membrane of their skin. They can take in nutrients through fluid, gas or, finely crushed forms. When a Proteka’s skin makes contact with a liquid or gas, the Proteka may choose whether to absorb it or not. An unconscious Proteka will absorb all contacts until death or consciousness is regained.
Magically Deficient: Proteka’s technological affinity suppresses their magic. The character has 50% less mana. The spell negative mana until death is reduced by 50% as well.
Perma-deaf: Proteka are born without any auditory senses. Due to this they are immune to all effects that require sound. Additionally Proteka are adept at reading lips and can easily understand any language they know that is spoken to them while looking at the creature, they gain a +25 to any checks regarding understanding a language they know.
Proteka Eyesight: The Proteka’s eyes provide enhanced seeing ability. They gain a +25 to Sight and they only take a -2 on sight checks while in Dark light levels. Their approximate visual range is 3 kilometers.
Volcanic Habitat: Proteka evolved to survive in the volcanic continent. Their bodies adapted to give them a +25 Fire Resistance and +50 Heat Resistance. As well as +12 to Survival(Barren).

Genetics and Reproduction

Sexually; litters 3-5 offspring 1 year gestation; every 2 years or later.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Instead of eating, Proteka absorb nutrients through skin. The food must be finely crushed or liquid form to be successfully ingested.

History

The Proteka have a deep history revolving around innovation and technology. Legends say they are descended from the Ancestors and since the discovery of the ship, the tales became more believable. The Proteka were never very magically inclined, but they excel in technological advancements. Their scientists’ research has proven a strong correlation between lack of magic and natural affinity for advanced technology and vise versa. This technological affinity has helped them produce amazing machines and even pave the way for mechanized transport and cybernetic creatures. Both of which the Proteka pioneered.
