Ancestral Blood: Affinity for advanced technology courses through the veins of the Proteka. Whenever a Proteka makes a Craft(Technology), Energy Shield, Energy Weapons, or Knowledge(Technology) check they may reroll the die. If they do so they must take the second roll.
Breathing Skin: Proteka absorb nutrients through the outer membrane of their skin, capable of drawing sustenance from fluids, gases, or finely crushed matter. When in contact with a substance, they can consciously regulate absorption, allowing them to control intake. However, an unconscious Proteka loses this ability, passively absorbing all surrounding substances until they either regain consciousness or succumb to harmful exposure.
Magically Deficient: A Proteka’s innate technological affinity naturally suppresses their magic, reducing their total mana pool by 50%. Likewise, the spell negative mana until death is also reduced by 50%.
Perma-deaf: Proteka are born without auditory senses, making them completely immune to any effects that rely on sound. However, they have adapted by becoming highly skilled at reading lips, allowing them to understand any spoken language they know as long as they can see the speaker. They also gain a +25 bonus to any checks related to comprehending a known language.
Proteka Eyesight: The Proteka’s eyes grant them exceptional vision, providing a +25 bonus to sight-based checks. In dim lighting, they only suffer a -2 penalty to sight-based perception instead of the usual penalties. Additionally, their visual range extends up to approximately 3 kilometers.
Volcanic Habitat: The Proteka have evolved to withstand the harsh conditions of their volcanic homeland. Their bodies have adapted to grant them +25 Resistance (Fire) and +50 Resistance (Heat). Additionally, they gain a +12 bonus to Survival (Barren) checks.
