Basic Information

Anatomy

Completely made from rock, Opsianno are obsidian beings. They’re very smooth and break in clean cleavage. Their anatomy is mostly humanoid with 4 limbs. The inner circulatory system of the Opsianno is molten magma which needs to be kept at high temperatures in order to stay liquid. If the inner liquids harden the Opisanno will enter a unconscious state until the temperature changes.

Biological Traits

Born from Magma: Their stone nature and inability to burn renders Opsianno immune to fire and heat. They can enter lava/magma with no penalty.
Cave Dweller: Opsianno have long dwelled in caves where light is minimal or non-existent. Remove any penalty to see due to Low-Light.
Heated Joints: Due to the natural flow of magmatic materials inside an Opsianno, they have an aversion to sources that can impede this heat. When in water Opsianno find themselves cooled and moving slower. In water of a depth around the knee, the Opsianno loses 10% movement Speed. At chest height this penalty increases to 25% as well as a 10% penalty to all rolls that involve body movement (ie. Fighting, Magic with the Somatic Trait, and skills that require movement). If the Opsianno is completely submerged then the penalties increase to 50% and 25% respectively. Cold and Frost Damage reduce movement speed by the Damage dealt divided by ten in meters (Minimum reduction is 1. Max. Reduction can reduce the Opsianno’s speed to 0.) A sufficiently cold environment applies the maximum maluses constantly unless the Opsianno is properly equipped.
Large Lung Capacity: An Opsianno can hold its breath for twice the normal period of a creature its size.
Rock Camouflage: Being a living rock, an Opsianno has a natural +12 Hide whilst in a rocky environment.
Rocks don’t Float: Opsianno always fail swim checks and sink to the bottom of the water. Lava/magma provides an exception to this in which they gain +50 to Swim and have natural buoyancy.
Rock-Hard Skin: Opsianno are Stone subtype instead of Flesh subtype. They are considered to always be equipped with Stone Armor. If other armor is equipped, the Opsianno can only gain benefit from one. This armor does not impede any ability that requires the Opsianno to be unarmored.

Genetics and Reproduction

An Opsianno reproduces in a grand form of ritual sacrifice in which the parent gives his inner core to the offspring. In a grand ritual which requires standing in the presence of flowing lava, a child is born out of the husk. In uncommon circumstances, instead two offspring are produced from the ritual.

Growth Rate & Stages

Opsianno take many years to reach adulthood. The childhood stages takes almost a century until the body is fully formed. Its inner magmic circulatory systems flows and hardens growing the body ever so slightly over the years.

The Opsianno live in a mountainous and volcanic region of the planet.

Dietary Needs and Habits

An Opsianno's diet consists of various forms of rock dust. While they do not need to drink, a favoured beverage is boiling lava.
