Basic Information

Anatomy

Nux are dark skinned humanoids. They have long dark hair, spiked forearms and a spiked back. Their mouths hold sharp teeth and a reptilian tongue. Sharp fingernails protrude from each of their hands. Nux have angular reptilian eyes that are typically gold or red. They have a second pair of eyes that rise from stalks on back of head. Nux are hermaphroditic and are genderless.

Biological Traits

Claw Attack: The Nux have a set of retractable claws. Their unarmed strikes weapon rating gains a +2 and the strike count as piercing or crushing damage. The Nux chooses which damage type before each swing.   Desert Dweller: A native to the harsh desert, this race is adapted to the difficult conditions. They have +5 Resistance(Fire) and are immune to the effects of hot weather.   Mana Pools: Magic seems natural to Nux and mana flows more freely. A Nuxawi’s mana pool has 20% more mana.   Natural Magicians: The Nux have an innate connection to magic. They are born knowing one spell of mana value 25 or less.   Thermal Stalks: The Nux have two additional eyes on stalks that they can extend and use instead of their normal eyes. While extended the character has a 360 degree viewing range and sees in thermal-scale. This increased view range grants a bonus to Perception equal to their level.

Ecology and Habitats

Nux live in permanent settlements near oases, rivers and the ocean. They build homes out of a special mud mixture that forms stone. They also harness magic’s unique abilities to help shape their villages. While they are most well-adapted to life in the harsh desert, in recent years more and more Nux travel around the globe living in cities and settlements everywhere.

Nuxawi can choose to use either Human Spectrum Vision or Thermalscale Vision. If attempting to use both incur both benefits and penalties, use the higher max range, and take an additional penalty of -9
Human Visual Spectrum: The human visual range allows visibility of a range of colors across the middle band of the light spectrum. Creatures with the human spectrum typically have a visual arc of 120 degrees.

Thermalscale Vision: Focusing on the infrared side of the light spectrum. It allows for vision based on heat sources. Thermalscale is the closest to darkvision one can get without magical assistance. Visual arc 120 degrees.

Thermalscale Vision

Characters with thermalscale vision can see through certain objects. If a creature of the heat or flesh types is behind cover they may still be "visible". If the target is not trying to hide you must roll a Challenging Success, if the target is attempting to hide you must roll 3 more successes than they do on thier hide or move silently check.
