The Ukiuk Wilds
The Ukiuk Wilds is the southern region of the Isle of ice, that lies to the north west of the continent of Rusfrost. The Ukiuk region is the most habitable region on the Isle of Ice but only has one known major settlement, and that being the town of Niavik.
Geography
The Isle of Ice is encompassed by three regions, that of Ukiuk, the Wolf-fang Mountains on its western side, and the Glacial Expanse covering its northern reaches. The Ukiuk region is dominated by dense pine forests that are almost always blanketed with snow, the region is also split in two by a most prominent river that flows down from the Wolf-fang mountains and out to the sea.
Localized Phenomena
The Isle of Ice is almost always blanketed by snow year round meaning that almost no agriculture is able to be done here, it has been often believed by locals that the constant snow is some sort of cures or spell placed on the land creating the eternal winter. It is also known that it is not wise to travel close to the Wolf-fang mountains due to monsterous legends and strange cryptic stories told by elders of the mammoth folk in the region.
Fauna & Flora
The Isle is dominated by hardy pine forests and smaller brush that is able to survive the year round freezing temperatures. The island is also still inhabited by various megafauna adapted to the cold climate.
History
The Isle of was first settled by those of the Mammoth-folk, but would latter have the prominent settlement of Naivik built by Bravianians and Vale-men.
