Londkard
The ancient Elf nation of Londkard once expanded across the continent, from what is now Breitia & Hertia down to the now Wood Elf country of Sheeth Alari. It was the original home of the Elves before the split into the High Elf, Wood Elf & Drow.
History
The country of Londkard stood for thousands of years, the pinnacle of Elven civilization.
The citizens lived without want. Some devoted themselves to magic, others to nature & some to the secrets hidden in shadow. All manual labour was done by Orcs, a slave race created by elven magic to free Elves from menial tasks.
However "paradise" was not to last as within the borders of Londkard. Friction, then factions began to appear within the populous.
Three primary factions emerged, each named in respect of the primary inspirations:
The Wood: Who believed that inspiration should be taken from the natural world & wished to free the Orcs from servitude.
The High: Those that felt magic & its studies were the primary pursuit & the Orcs were simple tools created to be used.
The Drow: A group that wished to be left alone to their studies. For years two of these prominent factions (Wood & High) politically argued over the Orcs & the direction the Elf nation's morals were heading. Eventually arguments that raged in the confines of government meeting rooms spilled into the streets & a civil war erupted. Wood & High openly assaulted each other while the Drow pulled away & dug deep into the earth to escape. Both Wood & High alike fought with viscous resolve, both sides believing their stance was the right direction for Londkard. In silence Drow, on the other hand, believed both fighting factions were wrong yet did not wish to become involved. Instead they retreated into the mountains & caves closing themselves off from the world above ground.
