The thistle foot riders are cavalry archers first, and shock cavalry second. Sworn to House Stonefoot who trains and equips them, these sturdy warriors typically ride war wolves as the majority of this house is of halfling origin. Regardless of their race or mount, Thistle Foot riders typically travel across the Southern Steppes and more rarely the Northern Steppes Moving with and training vast heards of sheep, horses, dogs, wolves or even bison. The semi nomadic lifestyle of House Stonefoot means these warriors are nearly born in the saddle, making them a deadly force of missile troops, as they run circles around an enemy, firing missiles all day.

Once the shafts are spent, these fighters can be used as shock cavalry, as each thistle foot is armed with a long lance. However the lighter armour and lack of shields mean they won’t survive in melee long with a heavily armoured foe.
