Elmstar

History

Founded in the Age Of Hero’s, Elmstar was purchased as part of a noble title of House Moonshadow by a wealthy merchant in 880 CA. Elmstar became the seat of power for the new noble house for roughly 100 years, until in the seat of power moved to Haven Oaks In 993 CA

Elmstar is the eastern most city in Belkar, and its location in a sheltered bay makes it ideal as a trade port. Luckily for House Moonshadow and all mariners large timber forests reach the eastern and northern walls of the city. These large timber forests make large ships merchant ships up to a cargo capacity of 300 tons. The North Star Dry Docks Are also the only docks large enough to make large quardmarine war galleys that dominate navel warfare.

Elmstar is on the very edge of Belkar so trade is also common with the Kingdom of Daehara, the neighbouring kingdom to the east.

Population

Today Elmstar is very integrated as wealth attracts all races. 36,000 people call Elmstar home, 35% are humans, 25% elves, 20% dwarves, 15% gnomes and 5% everything else.

Economy

Elmstars economy is driven by trade and the creation of being a merchant place for merchants. Merchants from around Balkar and beyond come to Elmstar to buy new and larger ships, repair old ships and sell thier wares while they wait for the ships. In addition to this the heavy timber mills that fell and plan the trees work drive indistry on their own.
