Jorgan
There are probably more Jorgans than any other type of human in Emicara. The inhabitants of several independent cities, the Mersan Union, and the Kingdom of Recfrere, Jorgans have thrived and abounded in this world. Jorgans are an ordered people, and believe heavily in law and order, constantly bringing them into conflict with their Shin and Caroan neighbors. That said, unlike the Jakonians, Jorgans firmly believe in the malleability of law and the establishment of new customs. Bickering and feuding is incredibly common among Jorgans and each of their towns and cities are well known to have different sets of local laws and traditions. Jorgans are therefore a fairly diverse group, but it's typically said among other people that two Jorgans discussing an issue is always an argument.

Culture
Major language groups and dialects
Jorgans speak Common as their primary tongue, having spent a few decades under the rule of the Jakonian Empire before they achieved their independence. Similarly, they were heavily influenced by the Mersans to the west, who also spoke a version of Common that forced the growth of the tongue. The end result is an odd combination of the two dialects, influenced by each. Beyond that, individual towns and cities are proud of the various slang and terms they form on their own, developing strange conversations throughout all of Jorgan society and communities.
Art & Architecture
Jorgan painters and tailors are said to be some of the finest in the world. The Jorgans say that the most. They are best known for representing the tranquility of nature and farmland in their artwork and pastoral scenes are by far the most popular. This is reflected in tapestries which adorn and abound throughout many homes and castles in Jorgan territory. Jorgan homes are usually of wooden construction, well built and designed for colder winters and hot summers. The steep roofs and paneling are by far the most recognizable features of Jorgan architecture.
Ideals
Gender Ideals
Jorgans firmly believe that a man's place is in working, and a woman's place is in the household. Jorgans rarely truly restrict a person in a legal sense, simple frowning upon divergences from the main family. It is possible for a man to remain at home, or a woman to find a career, but they typically face a socially uphill struggle in the process.
Relationship Ideals
Jorgans are very factional in their politics and in their lives. Feuds will occur between families that will last for generations, until none can remember why it even began. Jorgans hold grudges and are quick to claim a betrayal has occurred, but when they do find someone they can trust, they will be true and loyal friends. Jorgans make loyal spouses and even better friends, assuming that the others do not offend or insult their wider family. Homosexual relationships are not unheard of among Jorgans, nor are they forbidden, as most Jorgans believe that what takes place in the bedroom is only the business of the participants.
