Giant
Giants are massive creatures in the shape of humans that reside in the lands to the west. Living on great open plains and cultivating large animals to serve as their livestock, the giants have also been highly reliant upon humanoid slave labor. They used to raid eastward and take from the lands of civilization, but the increased speed of much of the Sypi River and resistance from the Sypi Confederacy have made these efforts more expensive than they are often worth. There are multiple types of giants, living in different lands, from the hill giants of the south, the frost giants of the north, and the fire giants of the west. Other giants take on nearly legendary status and are more of myth than known creatures.

Major Language Groups and Dialects
Giants all speak their own tongue, known as "Giant" but many do speak broken Common and other humanoid languages, as required to converse with their slaves and servants. Some also know more exotic languages, mostly those of the more erudite giants, who often keep to themselves and constantly peruse humanoid books and seek tutelage from humanoid teachers.
History
Giants are sometimes claimed to have once been human, only to have grown to incredible size by the use of magic. Half-giant legends claim that the giants had migrated from the cold north upon the fall of the Nameless Empire, and there is some likelihood that this is the case. It is believed that the powerful military might of the Empire had kept the giants at bay, blocking their expansion and growth from the north. Giants in general are a migratory group, and while they will occasionally set up settlements and communities, true cities do not exist for their kind. This is due to the sheer amount of supplies and upkeep required to feed and maintain a single giant steading, much less a large community. Therefore trade is minimal and they mostly fight amongst themselves and raid humanoid settlements and nations for any significant amounts of materials or equipment.
