Holy Pentagon
The Holy Pentagon is the One that is Five, or a single god with five aspects that are each individually worshipped and prayed to. It was established shortly after the founding of the Emdar Empire during a decade-long conclave known as The Great Consilidation.
The Dogma of the Pentagon is simple: All forms of spirituality and faith are ultimately worshipping the Five that is One. Rather than to eliminate other religions, The Pentagon seeks to assimilate them; any faith that shows the mark of the divine is taken in as an Aspect of the Five, either as a localized form or a combined form of various aspects. Jolki the Bard worshipped in Gellar for example is seen as a combination of The Smith and the Dreamer, the harmony of craft and imagination.
The Symbol of the Church is a Pentagon pointing downwards, with each point representing one of the Five.
Clockwise from the Northwest, the Holy Pentagon depicts:
The Smith Direction: Northwest Color: Yellow Season: Spring Element: Earth. Symbol: A Hammer and an Anvil The Smith is the Aspect of Creation. It prayed to by those who create and shape, from smiths in their forges to bards composing song. When depicted in a statue, it is often shown as a human blacksmith hammering on an anvil.
The Parent Direction: Northeast Color: Green Season: Spring Element: Water. Symbol: A parent holding a child. The Parent is the Aspect of Nurture. It is prayed to by those who take care of others, helping things and people grow. It is often pictured as a parent holding a baby.
The Lover Direction: Southeast Color: Red Season: Fall Element: Fire Symbol: A heart. The Lover is the Aspect of lust. It is prayed to those who seek comfort and counsel in matters of the heart. It is often portrayed as a beautiful young person beckoning coyly, looking directly back at whoever is beholding the statue.
The Dreamer Direction: North & South Color: Black Season: N/A Element: N/A Symbol: A closed eye The Dreamer is the Aspect of Mystery and Magic, paragon of the impossible. It is seldom prayed to or sought out, yet is acknowledged as an inalienable, if inscrutable aspect of the Pentagon. When portrayed as a humanoid statue, it is often portrayed as a cloaked figure reclining, presumably asleep.
The Warrior Direction: Southwest Color: Blue Season: Winter Element: Air Symbol: A sword The Warrior is the Aspect of Battle. It is prayed to by those who seek strength, both martial and otherwise. It is often pictured as a fully armoured knight, wielding a longsword.
